Borobudur temple is one of the most ‘eye catching point’ in the world which always in discussion among the experts. Borobudur Temple Conservation Center and institution collaborates with “LIPI”, a National Archives and Library of Indonesia held an exhibition of Archives of Reconstruction of Borobudur temple at the National Museum, Jakarta. In the exhibition that was held on 10 to 15 October 2017, it will present documents in the form of archives and photos that store historical information about the preservation of Borobudur Temple.
Director of Heritage and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Najamudin Ramly, revealed that the restoration document presented is a restoration of Borobudur Temple from 1973 to 1983.
“The document must be kept in its integrity, with conservation, preservation and digitalization, and the existence of this high historical value archive needs to be widely informed to the public through the exhibition so that the public’s knowledge will increase,” he said in his opening speech of the Archive Exhibition The restoration of Borobudur as Memory of The World, at the National Museum of Jakarta, Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
The exhibition which takes the theme of “Preserving Document History of Restoration of Borobudur Temple as Memory of The World” will also provide information about the Borobudur Temple, which has experienced several times the restoration of both small and large scale.
“But at this time the visitors know his Borobudur Temple was first found in a state of intact,” he said.
With this activity, people can recognize Borobudur Temple as world heritage, and archive the history of its restoration as Memory of The World.
Later in the exhibition located in the right wing of this museum tourists can find a variety of relics, such as some documents and archives of the process of restoration of Borobudur Temple, until the fragments of Borobudur Temple stone.
